We interviewed the lovely Suseela to find out what inspired her to design the Flat Flower window sticker. Suseela Gorter, designer of the fabulous Flat Flowers, has a great love for photography. She graduated in 1997 as a graphic designer from Art academy Arnhem. Photography and concept play an ever growing part in her work. Her work is playful, cheerful and colourful. 'I love to create products that will put a smile on your face.'

What is your approach to design?
'There is a photograph hanging above my desk which conveys my approach to design. It features a typical Dutch landscape, it shows a little lamb leaping into the air from pure joy.'

What was the inspiration for the Flat Flowers?
'A lack of window sills in my new house.'

Are you working on any new designs?
‘I am working on a new series of home interiors products based on 3-D photography. Watch this space!’

What is your favourite medium to work in?
‘Photography, imagery plays a pivotal role in my designs.’

What other designs are you planning for the future?
‘I am not sure what kind of designs these will be. I do know that it will feel light and playful. There is nothing better than to surprise yourself during the design process.’

What is your favourite design you have created and why?
‘The Flat Flower Window Stickers. Simply stick the Flat Flowers on your window and you will always have a fresh bunch of flowers in your window sill.’

What is your favourite holiday spot?
‘I love Terschelling, a tiny Dutch island where the Oeral music/theatre festival is held.’
